care more than some think is wise; risk more than some think is safe;
dream more than some think is practical; expect more than some think is possible

soul words

words
simple thoughts
come'n'go
one then another
strung one by one
on'n'on they grow
lines
training on
stand in place
piled longer still
until they flow
creating their pace
man
sits, thinks hard
creative
moments, hours pass
time now to be
imaginative
done
words no more
thoughts now cease
flowing perfectly
all is now done
a soul now at peace

When Good Dreams Haunt ...

When good dreams haunt, its quite possibly one of the biggest let downs a person can experience so early in a day. Like today, I had a great dream, a very literal and believable dream and I woke up happy and pleasant, despite being sort of sick and coughing all night ... point is, when I should have woken up groggy and tried from coughing more than I slept, due to a pleasant dream I took as an actual experience, I awoke in a bright eye and bushy tail kind of way.

Or at least that was the case until I realized that the dream was in no way related to actuality and it was simply in my head. I then slumped off into a groggy 'I just woke up from a very interrupted night's sleep or attempt there at' state. The death of the joy and pleasure of a good dream that was mistaken for a brief moment as real, gave way to a degree of pain and much disappointment.

This is one way god dreams haunt. How sad it is that this is true. I wish good dreams would only be good.

I can Stand, Face to the Wind!

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, "My Refuge and my Fortress, my God in whom I trust!"
For it is He who delivers me from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover me with his pinions, and under his wings I may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.

I will not be afraid of the terror by night, or of the arrow that flies by day; of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or of the destruction that lays waste at noon.
A thousand may fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand, but it will not approach me.
I will only look on with my eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.
For I have made the Lord, my refuge, even the Most High my dwelling place.
No evil will befall me, nor will any plague come near my tent.

For He will give His angels charge concerning me, to guard me in all my ways.
They will bear me up in their hands, that I do not strike my foot against a stone.
I will tread upon the lion and cobra, the young lion and the serpent I will trample down.

...

Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name.
He will call upon Me, and I will answer him I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him and let him see My salvation.

Aide Memoire

I have been struggling a little as a motivated Christian. I have not pursued the Lord as I ought to have been. This is not new for me, and I feel most Christians would agree that these times and seasons come and go. But, I always seem to be surprised when I am in a funk after these "dry" times in my spiritual pursuit of the Lord.

But I was given a sudden reminder yesterday at church, that the Lord is far, far, and infinitely greater than my sin. I was reminded that God is not affected by my sin. My ability to sin does not affect or alter God's ability to forgive. Me - a sinner to the furthest degree - cannot make Christ's sacrifice of no effect!

There was a song. I don't know the name of the song, but it said, "You are God alone, and since before time began, You are on your throne! .... " Which seemed to have instantly melted my hardened heart. God is on his throne! How amazing is that thought? God, who has been forever and will be forever, without ever changing in the least (James 1:17) ... is still sitting on his throne, even when I sin. Even when I change and sway back and forth (like the man upon the sea ... James again) God is not taken off guard by that. He still reigns and rules just like before.

You are not a god
Created by human hands
You are not a god
Dependant on any mortal man
You are not a god
In need of anything we can give
By Your plan, that's just the way it is

You are God alone
From before time began
You were on Your throne
Your are God alone
And right now
In the good times and bad
You are on Your throne
You are God alone

You're the only God
Whose power none can contend
You're the only God
Whose name and praise will never end

You're the only God
Who's worthy of everything we can give
You are God
And that's just the way it is

Unchangeable
Unshakable
Unstoppable
That's what You are
